I'd always loved art as a child. I was always sketching and doodling. But at 13 years old in
9th grade, an art class exercise of doing a self portrait in pencil (as seen at left) brought on the realization
that I had potential as an artist and gave me the spark to start taking my art more seriously. The rest of my school
years, I worked more on the concept of composition using mostly photography and graphic design.
But during my senior year, I took an art portfolio preparation class, which rekindled my love of creating fine art and
turned me on to my current medium of acrylic painting. And I have been painting ever since.
